MONTREAL — A video posted on June 3, in which alleged body-parts killer Luka Magnotta says "hi to all my fans", is actually a clip from an older videoposted May 31 or before.

The series of three clips posted June 3 and 4, raised the spectre that the former porn actor and stripper filmed a series of clips while he was on the run for the murder and dismemberment of gay lover Jun Lin in Montreal.

Police said as much. Montreal police Cmdr. Denis Mainville told La Presse that it "would be very surprising if they were filmed before the murder."

But it now appears that the 22-second excerpt, that shows a blond-haired Magnotta, dressed in a white sweater and his eyebrows dyed black, smoking a cigarette inside an apartment building or hotel room, is taken from an older video.

The identity of the YouTube user who uploaded the video on June 3 - with the handle ibechillin69 - is unknown.

Magnotta, a Toronto native who lived in Montreal, was arrested at an Internet cafe in Berlin on Monday. He is now in the processes of being brought back to Canada, where he faces charges of first-degree murder, indignity to a corpse and production and distribution of obscene material.

He also faces charges of criminal harassment against Prime Minister Stephen Harper and against Parliament after a foot was mailed to Conservative party headquarters in Ottawa and a hand was intercepted on route to Liberal offices in the nation's capital.
