An educational, fun camp for kids this summer

Article content

There is plenty of things for children in Delhi to do this summer.

Registration is now open for Museum Mania at the Delhi Tobacco Museum and Heritage Centre.

“There is still educational and fun (at the camp). Campers learn about the history while being here at the museum and they meet new friends,” said Nicole Lambrecht, program coordinator for the summer camp.

The program is offered to children aged six to 10 and runs Tuesday to Thursday for three weeks in July and three weeks in August.

Each day is based around a different theme, some of which include wacky tacky art, Disney fever, splash bash, spooky hollow and a knight's quest.

“I've included some new themes this year,” said Lambrecht. “There are still some of the favourites though.”

“I think it's fun when it is different everyday,” said Lambrecht.

The camp's activities are based around the theme and children are often encouraged to wear a costume associated with the theme.

“They love dress up, so I try to include dress up on as many days as I can,” said Lambrecht.

Full payment and complete paperwork is required at the time of registration.

Registration forms and program guides are available at the museum or online at www.delhimuseum.ca.

Registration is open all summer. Campers can register up to one week before the actual camp.
