STRATFORD, Ont. - His fans came from as far as Quebec to see him, but Justin Bieber was a no-show, as expected, for Monday’s court appearance here.

And he won’t be here for the next one, scheduled for Oct. 27, his lawyer Brian Greenspan told a weeping Belieber after a brief hearing to adjourn the pop star’s case.

“I can assure you Mr. Bieber will not be here,” Greenspan said.

Earlier Greenspan told court he’s waiting for more disclosure from the Crown.

Bieber, 20, is charged with assault and dangerous driving.

Back home on the Labour Day weekend, Bieber and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez were riding around on an ATV near his father’s rural estate when he had a run-in with a paparazzo. Police said the ATV collided with a minivan and Bieber had a “physical altercation” with the van’s driver.

Greenspan said Bieber co-operated with the investigation and the issue could be “quickly resolved.”

Bieber is already on a two-year probation for throwing eggs at his neighbour’s home in California.
