Jimmy Fallon does bang-on Bono impersonation for 'Desire' performance

Jimmy Fallon threw on some shades and did his best Bono impersonation on The Tonight Show last night.

The host had a huge musical hole to fill after U2's scheduled week-long residency was postponed after the frontman injured his arm in a bicycle accident over the weekend.

Instead of scheduling another band at the last minute, Fallon ripped through a sizzling version of U2's 1988 hit Desire himself, with The Roots keeping a blistering pace behind him.

Fallon also brought up U2 during his chat with Benedict Cumberbatch, who famously photo-bombed the band during the 2014 Oscars:
