Police make child porn bust

Police continue an investigation into child pornography after a man was arrested at a St. Catharines home last week.

 Police executed search warrants at two residences, one in St. Catharines and one in Port Rowan, west of Port Dover on Lake Erie.

The accused was located and arrested at the St. Catharines address.

As a result of this investigation, five computer devices as well as other items were seized. Some of the items contained images of child sexual abuse.

Michael Patten, 20, of the Port Rowan is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of making available child pornography, one count of making child pornography and one count of sending sexually explicit images without consent.

The OPP's child sexual exploitation unit and technological crime unit as well as the Norfolk County OPP and the Niagara Regional Police were all involved in the investigation.
