Environment Canada issues special weather statement about wind
Winds gusting as high as 80 kilometres an hour are expected to hit the local area Tuesday afternoon, according to a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada.
The statement covers Norfolk, Haldimand, Brant and Oxford counties.
According to forecasters the gusty southwest winds are expected to develop Tuesday afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front.
Many areas will likely experience winds gusting 60 to 70 kilometres an hour, but stronger wind gusts to 80 kilometres an hour are possible with rain showers and thunderstorms.
The winds are expected to quickly diminish Tuesday evening with the passage of the cold front.
