Several vehicles thefts over past week

Vehicle thieves hit the Delhi area especially hard over the past week.

Three vehicles in all went missing in Delhi between last Thursday and Sunday.

The first theft occurred late Thursday or early Friday at Mike’s Automotive Service on King Street.

Stolen was a black, 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The vehicle was locked at the time of the incident.

Another black Silverado – this one model year 2007 -- was reported stolen from Cottonwood Street in Delhi between 2 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. Sunday.

Also in the early morning hours of Sunday, someone made off with a blue, 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt. The Cobalt was parked on Church Street East.

Police report the Cobalt was unlocked at the time of the theft.

Thieves attempted to steal two pickup trucks from a property on Old Highway 24 near Waterford last week.

In the early morning hours of Friday, someone managed to break in to a locked pickup truck at the address and drive it away. An attempt to steal a second pickup on the property was unsuccessful.

The missing pickup is described as a green 2001 GMC Sierra.
