SIMCOE -

If you possess illegal drugs you might want to avoid calling police if they are stolen.

Norfolk OPP are investigating after a Cedar Street resident in Simcoe reported the theft of a quantity of marijuana on Monday afternoon.

Investigating officers learned the resident did not have a licence to possess the marijuana. When questioned, the resident no longer wanted to talk to police.

“Just because they don't want to co-operate doesn't mean we aren't going to investigate,” said Norfolk OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk.

Depending on the outcome of the investigation, charges could be a possibility for the victim of the theft.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1 - 888 - 310 – 1122, Crime Stoppers at 1 - 800 - 222 - 8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous online message at www.helpsolvecrime.com.

Shoplifting charges

A shoplifting complaint has led to a trio of charges against a Hamilton woman.

Norfolk OPP responded to a reported theft from the Walmart store in Simcoe at just before 9 p.m. Monday.

Brooke Lee Fuller, 24, has been charged with theft under $5,000, obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with probation order.

She is scheduled to appear in Simcoe court at a later date to answer to the charges.
