Drugs, stolen property seized




Electronics, jewelry and cash were seized following a break-in at a home in Waterford this week.

The house on Nichol Street was entered sometime Tuesday between noon and 4 p.m. Taken was a laptop computer, a Canon camera, assorted pieces of jewelry and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

Around 2:15 p.m. that afternoon, an officer recalled seeing a man on John Street who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. He was subsequently located and arrested.

During the investigation, police located some of the missing items from the Tuesday break-in. Also seized was a quantity of narcotics.

The 51-year-old Norfolk man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime worth more than $5,000, break-and-enter, theft over $5,000, and possession of cocaine.

The suspect will answer the charges at a later date at the Norfolk County court house.
