SIMCOE -

A former Norfolk County paramedic received time served and a conditional sentence in Simcoe court after pleading guilty to assault and several sex-related charges.

David B. Marazzo, 60, was charged in the fall of 2015 after a police investigation that lasted several weeks.

He pleaded guilty before Justice Kevin Sherwood to obtaining sexual services, assault and two counts of voyeurism.

Charges of make print or publish child pornography, possession of child pornography, sexual exploitation and another voyeurism charge were withdrawn.

Sherwood sentenced Marazzo to a 12-month conditional sentence and a $1,000 fine plus $700 in surcharges. He was credited with 136 days of pretrial custody and given a further 14 days to serve.

Marazzo’s name will be registered with the sex offenders database and he must remain on probation for three years.

Marazzo was a paramedic at the time he was charged, but, shortly after the charges were made public, the county said he was no longer an employee.

He operated a restaurant and catering service in Simcoe called Ma Razzo’s.
