Three charged in violent home invasion

Three people are facing charges after a violent home invasion in Simcoe on Monday morning.

Three men entered a home on Queen Street South and became involved in a physical confrontation with a man who was in the home at the time.

A firearm and edged weapon was produced during the altercation, Norfolk OPP said in a media release.

Police were contacted at about 10:30 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, police took one suspect into custody. Two other suspects fled the scene but were later taken into custody without incident.

Coby Carter, 20, of Hamilton has been charged with break and enter, robbery with weapon, possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, assault with a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and three counts of fail to comply with probation order.

Simeon Bolton, 20, of Hamilton has been charged with break and enter, robbery with weapon, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cannabis resin and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Aladin Elfatih Abdelgadir, 22, also of Hamilton has been charged with with break and enter, robbery with weapon, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

They are slated to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
