Man struck and killed by train

A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a VIA Rail passenger train.

Brantford Police, along with emergency medical services personnel responded at about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 to Powerline Road between Oak Park and Paris Roads. An eastbound train travelling from London to Toronto on the south track struck a 36-year-old Brantford man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger train was delayed by the sudden death investigation until about 10:30 a.m. when the track was re-opened. Police are assisting the coroner’s office as the investigation continues.
