Man charged in door, window theft

A suspect has been charged in connection with a $32,000 theft from a construction site near Waterford on the weekend.

In the early morning hours on Saturday, 26 windows, seven doors and plywood were stolen from a property on Cockshutt Road.

The items were loaded onto a flat-bed trailer attached to a four-door Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The stolen property has since been returned to its owner, Norfolk OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk said in a media release.

On Monday a 34-year-old Norfolk man was charged with break and enter, theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and trespassing at night. He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
