Police blotter: Homeowner charged with assault



A Walsingham home owner has been charged after he chased after a suspicious motorist who came onto his property.

Around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report of a suspicious vehicle from a home owner on South Walsingham Road 8.

The homeowner reported that a suspicious vehicle pulled into his driveway, turned around and left.

The homeowner chased after the vehicle and managed to pull in front and stop it. A confrontation ensued followed by an altercation.

Following an investigation, the Norfolk OPP charged the 34-year-old homeowner with assault.

Window smashed in Delhi

A vehicle was vandalized in Delh last week.

The rear window of a vehicle on Western Avenue was smashed over the noon hour Thursday.

The damage occurred in the parking lot of the Delhi Community Centre arena on Western Avenue.

Norfolk OPP are investigating.

Pickup stolen in Simcoe

A late-model pickup truck was stolen in Simcoe last week.

The 2013 Dodge Ram went missing from a home on Sunset Drive in the early morning hours of Thursday.

The vehicle is black in colour.

Theft on Highview Ave.

Residents of a neighbourhood in Simcoe have been warned that a petty thief is on the prowl in their area.

Around 5:30 a.m. Friday, someone stole a wool sweater and ownership and insurance documents from an unlocked vehicle on Highview Avenue.
