A 47-year-old Norfolk man is facing charges after police stopped a vehicle on West Quarter Line Road, South Walsingham.

During the course of the investigation, officers located property that had been previously reported stolen from a break and enter into a residence.

The man was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime, driving while under suspension and use of plate not authorized for vehicle.

Police seeking public assistance

The OPP are looking for a driver in a hit and run collision involving a vehicle and bicycle on Robinson Street in Simcoe Tuesday.

A 20-year-old Norfolk man was cycling north on Metcalfe Street South at about 2:40 p.m. when the bicycle was hit by a silver Honda Civic as it turned from Robinson Street.

The vehicle driver stopped and briefly spoke to the bicyclist and then re-entered his vehicle and left the scene. He was last seen travelling westbound onto West Street. The cyclist did not suffer any injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate and are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

Theft of adult tricycle

A bright blue coloured Schwinn Meridian adult tricycle that has multi-coloured tape on the tires was stolen from a residence on Queen Street North in Port Dover Oct. 24. The bike was stolen in the early morning hours.

Tools stolen

About $7,000 in tools were stolen from a shop located on Hazen Road in North Walsingham sometime between Oct. 21-24.

The culprits gained entry and removed a quantity of items including a drill press, hand tools, power tools, motors and camping equipment.
