A Tillsonburg man who slipped into a Courtland area home while the residents were sleeping and got into a fight with the homeowner was sentenced to 125 days in jail.

Dale Patrick Gibbons, 30, pleaded guilty in Ontario Court recently to unlawful entry, assault and threatening damage to property after an incident on July 26 when Gibbons was arrested.

Justice Kevin Sherwood credited Gibbons with having served 94 days on a one-and-a-half for one basis, and ordered that he serve a further 31 days.

Sherwood also ordered Gibbons to provide a sample of his DNA for the national offenders databank, pay $600 in victim surcharges and remain on probation for a year.
