Man charged after disturbance in Jarvis
A Norfolk County man is facing numerous charges in connection with a disturbance at a Jarvis residence.
Haldimand OPP responded to a Peel Street East at about 5 a.m. on Sunday after receiving several calls from people reporting loud yelling from inside a residence.
When officers arrived a man was seen with what police referred to as an “edge weapon” at the front of the residence. He was taken into custody.
Police say the suspect had earlier forced his way into the home and asked the occupants for the whereabouts of another man who was not there at the time.
The man allegedly damaged and removed property before leaving the home.
A 39-year-old Norfolk man has been charged with robbery, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was held for a bail hearing in Cayuga.
