Police blotter: Pregnant woman struck by vehicle



Police are hoping a witness will come forward after a pregnant pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Tillsonburg on Friday afternoon.

The 21-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries to her or the unborn baby, said Oxford OPP.

The incident occurred on Lisgar Avenue just east of Van Norman Drive at about 11:30 a.m.

The vehicle involved left the scene.

An unknown witness asked the pregnant pedestrian if she was OK but did not remain at the scene.

Tools stolen

Power tools valued at about $2,000 were taken in a break and enter in Townsend on Friday morning.

The culprit forced their way into the residence on Keith Richardson Parkway sometime between February 15 at 7:40 p.m. and February 16 at 6 a.m.

Stolen items included two air compressors, a Dewalt mitre saw on a rolling stand and a Dewalt stereo.

Haldimand OPP are continuing to investigate.
