A Charlotteville Township Road man who forced his way into a Vittoria home, breaking a probation order in several ways, was sentenced to time served when he appeared in Ontario Court recently.

Connor J. Smith, 26, pleaded guilty to forcible entry on July 14 when he went into the Hewitt Street home breaking an order that he not contact a certain woman or be within 50 metres of her.

He also pleaded guilty to committing mischief under $5,000 on Feb. 15 last year when he damaged some tires.

Justice Colette Good credited Smith with already having served the equivalent of 145 days in jail for his five crimes and ordered him to remain on probation for three years.

Smith will have to pay $700 in victim surcharge fines and submit a sample of his DNA to the national offenders registry.

Eight other charges were withdrawn.
