Police blotter: Man facing assault charge

A man is facing a charge of aggravated assault after an incident in Delhi on Friday night.

The accused reportedly got involved in a verbal confrontation with another man that turned physical.

Norfolk OPP responded to a Brock Avenue address at just before 10 p.m.

A 41-year-old Norfolk man has been charged.

 Monitor stolen

Someone threw a rock through the front window a Simcoe business and stole a monitor early Friday morning.

Police received a report of the theft at about 11:30 on Friday.

Norfolk OPP say the incident occurred on Robinson Street in the early morning hours Friday.

The culprit smashed the window and then removed a 17-inch LCD monitor.

Fence damaged

A fence surrounding a property on Queen Street North in Simcoe was damaged was damaged in the early morning hours on Friday.

The mischief was reported to police at about 11 a.m.

Boogie boards stolen

Two boogie boards were stolen from a property in the Courtland area.

A break and enter was reported to Norfolk OPP on Friday morning.

Police say someone entered an outbuilding on the property and removed the two boogie boards.

Anyone with information regarding this break and enter is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1 - 888 - 310 - 1122. 

Keys, GPS stolen from vehicle

A set of spare keys and a GPS unit were stolen from a vehicle on Donly Drive South in Simcoe.

The theft occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday.

Norfolk OPP offers the following tips to you from becoming a victim:

• Always secure your vehicle doors when parking your vehicle, even if you are only going to be a few minutes.

• Remove valuables from your vehicle. If you can't, then keep them from plain view.

• Park in well lighted areas with high traffic.

• Clean out your garage and park your vehicle in it - locking your vehicle and the garage door.

• If you see suspicious activity or behaviour around your vehicle or neighbourhood, report it. 

 Bicycle stolen

An unlocked bicycle was stolen from a Delhi property on Saturday morning.

The theft occurred on Eagle Street sometime in the early morning hours.

The bicycle is described as silver and black coloured BMX GT with a black lock and blue chain. It was unlocked at the time of the theft.

 Driver charged

A man who contacted police about an incident early Saturday was later arrested and charged with impaired driving the same day.

Police were conducting patrols on Robinson Street when a vehicle caught their attention. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Union Street and a 55-year-old Norfolk man was charged with over the legal limit and driving while under suspension.
