The framing of the new Norwich Township administration building is going up and it's providing a better picture of what the facility will look like.

The exterior walls are taking shape and the roof trusses are being delivered to the site for installation in the next week or so.

Brick work and exterior finishes are to be put in place by the end of August, said township financial director Michael Legge.

“The building has started to take shape and soon the public will be able to see how the final building should look,” said Legge.

Chief building official Brian Reid said the weather and weather forecasts caused some delays, including delaying the pouring of the concrete floor for about a week.

“We are approximately two weeks behind schedule at this pint,” said Reid. “But it is hoped that once the structure is fully enclosed, and weather is no longer a factor, that some of this time can be made up.”

Nancy Lemon from VG Architects, presented council with the finishes for inside the new building. They include natural finishes in mostly neutral colours except for one feature wall in the main lobby that will be reclaimed barnboard stained a shade of red.
