Ingrid Dunsworth’s thoughtfulness has paid off sweetly for the Halifax cake maker.

The Cake Lady, as Dunsworth is known at the Halifax Seaport Farmers Market, met His Royal Highness and the Duchess of Cornwall during their recent visit to Nova Scotia, and says the prince told her he’d love to try her cakes, the Halifax Chronicle-Herald reports.

The paper says Dunsworth searched for the address of Clarence House, the official residence of The Prince of Wales, and sent the couple a gingerbread heart and gluten-free chocolate hazelnut cake.

Two weeks later, she received an email from the estate manager of Highgrove saying that Charles and Camilla had been deeply touched by her generosity, and inviting her to visit for three days.

“They invited me to a private tour of the gardens at Highgrove estate,” she said. “It just blew me away.”

Dunsworth will arrive at Highgrove on Sept. 5.
