Suspected Ebola case comes back negative

TORONTO — A patient who was suspected of having the Ebola virus received the all clear from medical personnel at Sunnybrook Hospital early Sunday.

"Lab results show that a patient being treated at Sunnybrook, who recently travelled to West Africa, does not have Ebola virus disease.," the hospital said in a release.

The patient was displaying symptoms of disease after returning from Canada from West Africa 10 days ago.

The patient was transferred to Sunnybrook from Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ont., on Saturday for tests.

There have been 16 patients tested for Ebola in Ontario and all results have been negative. There have been no confirmed cases in Canada.
