“I have a lot of love in my life – lots of family and some close friends that are so supportive of my love of music,” the 16-year-old singer/songwriter from Brantford explains. “I know people who are great musicians who do not have this kind of support behind them. It makes such a big difference. It has made me realize how lucky I am to have that.”

The Grade 11 student at St. John’s College is holding a CD release party on Friday, May 31, at the Best Western Brantford Hotel and Conference Centre, Holiday Drive, Brantford.

Tickets are $10, which includes a copy of her new CD.

LeBlanc will be playing songs from her new album in an acoustic set beginning at 8 p.m.

The Luckiest Girl in the World, her first full CD, contains eight songs written by Leblanc, and follows her 2017 EP Better With Me with five original songs.

“I am really excited about this new album,” Leblanc says. “I wrote all the songs myself and I am proud to say that I have some of the greatest musicians in Ontario playing on these songs.”

Leblanc says she has been singing since she could talk, and has been playing guitar for the last eight years.

“I love older country music,” the singer/songwriter shares, citing Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and the Dixie Chicks among her influences. “My guitar heroes are Buddy Holly and George Harrison. People often call me an old soul.”

Leblanc says she performs as much as she can, and looks forward to a number of events this summer, along with fall fairs and some gigs in Northern Ontario.

“I’m always writing new music and I continue to learn from experienced musicians every chance I get,” she says. “I’m just getting started.”
