The Jeffery Concerts welcomes back the TorQ Percussion Quartet Saturday at Wolf Performance Hall.
“The audience left with smiles on their faces, toes tapping, hearts pounding after an evening of stunning virtuosity,” board member Lynne Milnes, said of TorQ’s first London performance on a cold February night in 2019.
“The four musicians certainly know how to engage and entertain and their ability to connect with an audience is immediate. They make percussion music accessible to all with their theatricality and infectious energy.”
Since forming in 2004, the group has performed well-known percussion works, but they also write their own material and commission works to be performed.
The first half of the program will feature a variety of works for pitched instruments followed by Light Years-Dark Matter, which is described in press materials as “an immersive, spatial program with the audience being centred in the experience.”
