The annual Holiday Soup Luncheon will be served up at The Aud from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 19.

The 13th annual event, sponsored by Norfolk County, Norfolk County Fair, and Simcoe Reformer, is a by donation lunch with all proceeds being given to local food banks.

The entry into the soup luncheon is pay by donation, which in the past has ranged from $5 to $100 or more per person.

More than 1,000 residents are expected, with lineups spanning the Norfolk County Fair parking lot in previous years. In past years the luncheon has raised about $16,000 with funds being distributed to  local food banks based on the need at each location.

Restaurants from across Norfolk County donate their soups to the cause, including Ritzy Cakes, Blue Elephant, The Barrel, and more. Along with the soup there is tea, coffee, and pizza.

“I think that it’s great to be involved with something that gives back to the community,” said Sue Downs, advertising manager at the Reformer. “I appreciate that all of the restaurants come together for something that helps the community. They don’t worry about being side-by-side with one of their competitors.”

The Aud is located at 172 South Drive.
