A 60-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault and assault with a weapon.

He was released with a Sept. 8 court date.

Fleeing from police

A 24-year-old Dresden man was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while under suspension, breach of probation and two counts of drug possession Tuesday.

Chatham-Kent police said a man, a known suspended driver, was spotted riding a motorcycle on Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg. He failed to stop for police and sped away, but he was found later on Lafontaine Street with suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.

The Dresden man was released with a court date in September.

Failing to comply

A 56-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions Tuesday after he was on the driveway of a Tilbury woman.

He’d been released from court in 2018 with several conditions, including staying away from that woman’s residence.

He was released with a Sept. 15 court date.

Domestic dispute

A 21-year-old Wheatley man was charged with assault after police went to a domestic dispute Tuesday at a residence in Wheatley.

He was released with an Oct. 28 court date.

Drug possession

A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions by being in possession of illicit drugs and two counts of drug possession early Wednesday.

Police said a suspicious man was spotted on Lowe Avenue in Wallaceburg and had suspected methamphetamine and psilocybin.

He was released with a Sept. 11 court date.

ATV stolen

A red 2012 Suzuki ATV was stolen from an unlocked barn on Chenal Road late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
