Christmas Baskets registration ends Friday

Registration for the Christmas Baskets program ends on Friday.

Anyone in need is encouraged to register from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Brantford food bank, 102-1100 Clarence St. S.

“We want to remind people who need this program to come by and register,” said Heather Vanner, executive director of Community Resource Service. “It’s important that anyone who needs help comes in to register prior to our cut-off date of Dec. 13.”

Currently, more than 1,000 individuals and families from across Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations are registered.

Monetary and food donations are needed.

Food donations can be dropped off at this year’s Christmas Baskets location at 11 Spalding Dr.

For pick up, call 519-751-4357, ext. 238. Monetary donations can be made in person at the food bank or online at www.brantfordfoodbank.ca

The Christmas Baskets program provides food, including a turkey and fresh products for a holiday dinner, and toys for children.

To register, individuals must show valid identification for each member of the household, as well as proof of income and proof of address. For more information, call 519-751-0000 or 519-751-4357.

The basket delivery date is Dec. 20, from 11 Spalding Dr.
