Driver suffers serious injuries in crash

A driver of a sports utility vehicle suffered serious injuries in a collision with a tractor trailer in Haldimand County on Monday night.
Emergency services responded to the crash at Third Line Road and Highway 6 near Hagersville at about 8:47 p.m.
The driver of the SUV was transported by paramedics to hospital. The person’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening, said Haldimand OPP.
Police said the SUV driver was heading east on Third Line Road when it struck the rear of a tractor trailer that had stopped at the stop sign at Highway 6.
Third Line was closed between Highway 6 and Cayuga Road for about three hours.
Investigation is continuing. Haldimand OPP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any further information to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
