Norfolk County’s latest management shuffle was completed this week with the appointment of Pam Duesling as the county’s new general manager of development and cultural services.
Duesling, 40, is Norfolk’s former manager of community planning. Duesling has been serving as acting general manager for the past several months. Her new responsibilities officially began on Monday.
“This was an opportunity to utilize my education, my leadership skills and further develop my community,” says Duesling, who is a life-long resident of Norfolk.
“We have a great team in this department and I look forward to working with them. Chris Baird has left a great legacy and big shoes to fill. I look forward to the challenge.”
The latest shake-up at Governor Simcoe Square began this summer when Lee Robinson, general manager of public works, resigned unexpectedly.
Chris Baird – Norfolk’s inaugural roads manager in 2001 — was shuffled from development and cultural service into the public works portfolio. Duesling assumed interim responsibilities and successfully interviewed for the job.
Duesling has been with Norfolk County for eight years. She is a community planner by training and has completed post-secondary courses in public administration. She has a Master’s degree in economic development and is working toward a Ph.D in rural planning through the University of Guelph.
