From live music to a wrestling show and from a kids dance-off to midway rides, the fifth annual Delhi Fall Fest is promising something for everyone.

“We want it (to be) completely family oriented,” committee member Paul Murray said of the event that runs in the downtown core, Sept. 7-9.

“We want the kids there, the grandparents there, the parents and everybody. This year we’re doing something special for the men.” Indeed, organizers have added a motorcycle show and shine that starts at noon Saturday on Church Street. Attendees will get a chance to vote on their favourite, with a prize going to the winner.

Last year’s event was pushed back so that Gable Bros Shows could bring their carnival rides to the party. While the festival has returned to the post-labour day weekend, the Gable Bros are on the docket once again.

“It was very easy,” Murray said of the decision to have the Gable Bros. return.

Murray said the rides gave Fall Fest “a different attitude” in 2017.

Entertainers taking the stage throughout the weekend include the likes of the Small Town Girls from Tillsonburg and Londonbased country group Whistler Creek.

“The excitement is very high. We’ve got some top bands coming in,” said Murray.

“It’s very exciting to get these people and these bands in … It brings crowds in, too.”

Murray estimated that last year’s festival attracted up to 5,000 people.

The opening ceremonies take place in Memorial Park on Friday at 5:30 p.m., ahead of a Classic Championship Wrestling show, “We look forward to seeing the faces of the kids,” said Murray.

The Fall Fest parade leaves from Delhi District Secondary School and proceeds through the streets of town beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, rain or shine.
