Gun call leads to arrest, firearm seizure

A 19-year-old man who was wanted by Brantford police in a shooting on March 22 is facing charges after Windsor police investigated a report of a firearm over the weekend.
Patrol officers responded early Sunday to a report of a man with a gun at a business. Units converged on the area and surrounded the business, then officers entered to investigate.
The located a male suspect, who was carrying a loaded handgun.
According to police, the firearm was concealed on the suspect’s person, and there was no evidence he had drawn or pointed it.
The weapon was seized and the suspect was arrested.
Keyshawn Commissiong has been charged with multiple offences related to an illegal firearm.
Police said the accused does not have a fixed address, but is known to have ties to the Greater Toronto Area.
Brantford police were seeking a 19-year-old suspect named Keyshawn Commissiong in relation to the shooting of another teenage male in the area of Park Avenue and Colborne Street.
The victim was under the age of 18 and was seriously injured, but survived.
Brantford police described the shooting as a targeted incident.
Brantford police identified a second suspect in the shooting as 19-year-old Isaiah Castillo.
“Do not approach the suspects as they may be in possession of a firearm,” Brantford police said in a news release at the time.
