Haldimand OPP on scene in Caledonia

Haldimand County OPP are at Highway 6 and Argyle Street in Caledonia as a result of what they say is an ‘ongoing matter.’

OPP say they role is to keep the peace and maintain public safety. Detours may be utilized if required to ensure the safe flow of traffic as discussions continue between the involved parties, OPP said in a a statement.

The OPP’s provincial liaison team remain in the area and are working with those who may organize protest events to provide a safe and peaceful opportunity to exercise their lawful rights, police said in the statement.
