The name of the Norfolk man killed this week in a collision with a propane truck has been released.

James Henderson, 59, was westbound on Highway 3 west of Simcoe in a grey car when he crossed the centre line into the path of an eastbound propane truck.

Both vehicles ended up in the south ditch. Henderson suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The driver of the propane truck was a 35-year-old man from Aylmer. A 39-year-old man from Malahide Township in Elgin County was a passenger in the truck. Neither was injured.

Highway 3 between Charlotteville Road 10 and Charlotteville East Quarter Line Road were closed for much of Tuesday while an OPP technical investigation team examined the situation.

Norfolk OPP report the investigation remains ongoing.
