A 20-year-old Greater Sudbury man will be sentenced in the new year after pleading guilty to child luring and child pornography charges.
A sentencing date for Kyle Kirouac will be set in assignment court on Nov. 13.
Kirouac, who was accompanied by his parents in the Ontario Court of Justice at the Sudbury Courthouse Tuesday, pleaded guilty to a charge of by means of telecommunication, communicating with a minor for the purpose of committing an offence (child luring) on Sept. 11, 2017, and accessing child pornography on March 28, 2018.
Kirouac’s lawyer, William Beach, subsequently ordered a pre-sentence report. A pre-sentence report can take six-eight weeks to complete.
Facts in the case were not read in but will be at the sentencing hearing which is expected to take one-two hours.
As a result of the two guilty pleas, a third charge – exposure to a person under 18 – was withdrawn by the Crown.
