Simcoe Lions Park will shine bright after three scoreboards were recently replaced thanks to the joint efforts of the Simcoe Lions and Norfolk County.

New scoreboards enhance Simcoe Lions Park Back to video

The Lions contributed more than half of the cost of the new scoreboards at the park, which was built in 1993 through a partnership between the club and the former Town of Simcoe.

“Lions Park holds a special place in the hearts of many Norfolk residents,” said Norfolk Mayor Amy Martin, in a release. “It serves as a central location for recreational activities that bring people together. The dedication shown by the Simcoe Lions Club helps Norfolk improve the park’s amenities and highlights the importance of working hand in hand with service clubs like the Lions. Their contributions play a vital role in ensuring our parks remain vibrant and accessible for everyone.”

Jim Adams Jr.,  Simcoe Lions ball park chair, said the partnership between the club and municipality has “only grown stronger over the years, resulting in a facility that attracts visitors of all ages.”

“The park has become a vibrant part of the community where Lions Club members are proud to invest monetary support and sweat equity,” said Adams. “The installation of three new digital scoreboards further enhances the park and reinforces our partnership with Norfolk County.”
