Norfolk County council has approved plans for a new 68-unit subdivision in Waterford.
Councillors voted unanimously in favor of the subdivision to be built on a four-hectare parcel of land at Charles Street and Washington Street.
The subdivision will include 23 detached homes, 15 bungalow townhouses and 30 two-storey townhomes.
County planning staff recommended approval of the development in a report presented on March 28.
The subdivision meets the intent of the county’s official plan and provincial policies. It is the kind of development that can help contribute to a vibrant community, growth and density in a neighbourhood, said a report.
The development was brought to council by G. Douglas Vallee Engineering Consultant, of Simcoe.
The development will meet a need for more housing in Norfolk County. Construction of the new subdivision could begin as early as this year.
