Resident loses $1,500 in scam
Norfolk OPP say a local resident lost money in an online scam.
The resident applied for a loan online and submitted an advance fee of $1,500. The resident received written correspondence but no loan.
Police said the scam sees everyone who applies being approved for a loan, which never materializes.

Window damaged
A front door window of a building on Market Street east, Port Dover, was damaged between Sept. 7 and 10. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Norfolk OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
TV stolen during break and enter
A television was stolen from a screened-in porch at a Fourteenth Street, Simcoe, address in the early hours of Sept. 11. The garage on the property also was entered but nothing appears to have been taken.
Man facing charges after fleeing from police
A 32-year-old Norfolk County man is charged with resisting a peace officer and failing to comply with a probation order after a man fled from police patrolling in the area of Talbot Street South in Simcoe on Sept. 10 around 11:50 p.m. Police said taken into custody after a physical confrontation.
Stolen vehicle recovered
A 20-year-old woman from London, Ont., is charged with possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 and driving a motor vehicle with no licence after police investigated a stolen vehicle at a Young Street, Norfolk County, address. The vehicle attracted the attention of an officer on patrol who later located it unoccupied. However, after further investigation, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
Valuables stolen from unlocked vehicle
Canadian currency, personal and financial information and a red St Louis Cardinals hat were stolen early on Sept. 7 from an unlocked vehicle parked at a Yeager Avenue, Simcoe, address.
