Police investigate after gunshots fired near Tillsonburg

Police in Elgin County are asking the public for assistance after shots rang out in a village south of Tillsonburg on the weekend.

Elgin OPP responded to reports of gunfire on Edison Drive between Creek Road and Queen Street in Vienna around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers found one spent bullet casing and a single live round. Both were 7.62 X 39 caliber rounds, a rifle round first designed during the Second World War.

Police say an SUV was seen in the area when the gun shots were fired.
