Police use Narcan spray to assist man

The quick actions of police and emergency services are being credited with helping a man experiencing symptoms of an opioid overdose.
A 28-year-old woman contacted 911 early Sunday to report her acquaintance, a 32-year-old man, was overdosing on fentanyl, Chatham-Kent police said.
Emergency services were sent to the location. The man was experiencing symptoms consistent with an opioid overdose, so police administered Narcan spray as a first-aid measure.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and rushed the man to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for further treatment.
The area was searched and no illicit drugs were located, police added.
Theft and possession of stolen property charges
A male suspect allegedly took approximately $450 worth of items from a Chatham business Friday and fled the area.
Video surveillance helped identify a suspect and, on Saturday, he was located and arrested. He was released from custody with conditions and a court date.
Warrant arrest
Police visited a Chatham address Saturday for a compliance of bail conditions check.
The subject of the check was found to be in compliance.
However, a 45-year-old man was also there who had an outstanding warrant for forgery, fraud, uttering a forged document and possession of stolen property.
He was arrested and held for bail.
