Aimee Bernardo, co-ordinator of Crime Stoppers of Haldimand and Norfolk, was recognized in mid-October with the prestigious Paul D. Bordreaux Coordinator of the Year award at the 2019 Crime Stoppers International Conference. The gathering was held in Singapore October 14-16.

“Aimee was recognized for her outstanding commitment and dedication to not just the local program but to Crime Stoppers as a whole,” the local Crime Stoppers board of directors said in a news release.

Judges for this year’s award note that “Aimee goes above and beyond her duties as co-ordinator at Haldimand & Norfolk Crime Stoppers” and “is — clearly — extremely highly regarded and has achieved greatness for Crime Stoppers at a local level.”

Due to the nature of her responsibilities, Bernardo prefers to work quietly behind the scenes. This includes a standing request that the media not publish her photo.

Crime Stoppers International is comprised of local Crime Stoppers programs in 26 countries around the world.
