Matthew Gerard Theriault, 31, represented by Sarnia lawyer David Stoesser, will return to the Ontario Court of Justice Sept. 24.

Theriault was arrested and charged days before the Easter weekend in April. A publication ban prevents reporting on evidence, testimonies, and the reason Theriault’s bail was denied.

Jesse Mowat-Caudle, 26, was found with serious injuries April 17 on a Maxwell Street driveway just north of downtown Sarnia. He was rushed to London hospital, where he died shortly after midnight.

Police did not say how the two men knew each other, but a mutual friend said both had “minor run-ins” over the years.

Theriault has been in video court more than a dozen times since his arrest. The Sarnia man has been in custody since April.
