NORTH GLENGARRY — Two people are facing charges after SDG OPP responded to a domestic incident on Tuesday afternoon.
Police alleged a 57-year-old man from North Glengarry assaulted his 43-year-old girlfriend, a woman from Cornwall, threatened her, and resisted during his arrest. Police also alleged the woman was breaching conditions imposed after a previous release and was wanted by the Cornwall police.
The man, whose identity was not released, was charged with assault; uttering threats; and, resisting a peace officer. He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Sept. 17.
The woman, whose identity was not released, was charged with two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a probation order. She was transferred into Cornwall police custody and given a Sept. 11 date in Alexandria court.
SOUTH STORMONT — A 36-year-old man from South Stormont is facing three charges after SDG OPP responded to a domestic disturbance on Tuesday night.
Police alleged the man assaulted his girlfriend, and damaged property within the home.
The man, whose identity was not released, was charged with assault, and two counts of mischief.
He was held in police custody pending a bail hearing in Cornwall court.
NORTH GLENGARRY — A 37-year-old man from North Glengarry is facing charges after SDG OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on County Road 43 on Thursday evening.
Police alleged the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
Rory McLeod, 37, was charged with driving a motor vehicle while impaired, and driving a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood.
He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Aug. 29.
MORRISBURG — Four people from Montreal are facing a variety of charges after SDG OPP officers intercepted vehicles that had been reported stolen at the eastbound OnRoute service station on Highway 401 on Thursday night.
Police alleged a 19-year-old man and 20-year-old man were in possession of a 2016 Toyota 4-Runner and 2018 Toyota 4-Runner that had been reported stolen in Toronto. Police alleged a 26-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy were assisting the two men with the theft.
Ralph Joseph, 19, and Roodley Romain, 20, were each charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; conspiracy to commit an indictable offence; and, parties to offence. The 17-year-old teen, whose identity cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and Faustin Shainna, 20, were each charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and parties to offence.
All four individuals were released from police custody to appear in Morrisburg court on Oct. 1.
