Simcoe man faces weapons charge

A 42-year-old Simcoe man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with a recognizance order, and failing to comply with probation.

Brantford Police were called to a report of a disturbance at about 3 a.m. on Monday on West Street. A group of men were arguing, and one was seen pulling out a knife and chasing the others down the street.

Officers located and arrested the suspect, who was in contravention of two court orders. No one was injured in the incident.

Police make arrest after 911 call

A 40-year-old Brantford man has been charged with impaired driving.

Brantford Police say they received a 911 call at about 1 a.m. Sunday in regard to a possible impaired driver who the caller saw stumbling before getting into a vehicle and leaving. Officers stopped the vehicle on Stanley Street.

A breath sample obtained at the police station indicated his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

New driver charged with impaired

A 21-year-old Brantford man faces impaired driving charges, including a novice driver – zero alcohol charge, after officers saw a vehicle swerving on Erie Avenue.

Police say the vehicle was stopped at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Breath samples provided at the police station indicated impairment more than two times the legal limit.

Man, 29, charged after accident

Brantford Police received a 911 call at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday regarding a car accident on Colborne St. West at Sherwood Drive.

The caller reported a vehicle had struck a parked car and a utility pole, and two people were seen running from the scene.

Officers found the pair a short distance away, and arrested the male driver who displayed signs of impairment.

Citizens block drunk woman from driving

A 52-year-old Cambridge woman has been charged with impaired driving following an incident early Friday evening.

Police say the accused was refused entry into an Icomm Drive business because of her state of intoxication. The woman was seen getting into a vehicle but others in the area blocked her until police arrived.

Breath samples obtained at the police station yielded results two times the legal limit.

Police find syringe in car

Police have charged a 35-year-old Brantford man with impaired operation – drug after officers noticed a vehicle parked across two parking spaces at a Colborne Street East business just after 7 a.m. Friday.

Officers found the accused slouched over the vehicle, which was still running.

Police say a syringe containing what was believed to be cocaine was located in his possession during the arrest.

The accused is also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
