Stolen car; domestic assault; break and enter charges

Stolen vehicle

Belleville police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle stolen from a west end residence.

Monday, at approximately 8:30 a.m., city police received a report a vehicle had been taken from a residence sometime overnight. The stolen vehicle is described as a 2013 black Dodge Avenger bearing license plate # ABPC 438.

If anyone has any knowledge of this theft or whereabouts of the vehicle they are encouraged to call Belleville Police Service at 613-962-3456.

Domestic assault

A 31-year-old woman has been charged after a domestic dispute Monday.

City police report it was 5 p.m. when officers responded to a west end residence with regards to a domestic disturbance.

A 27-year-old man had gone to Belleville General Hospital where it was determined he suffered two broken fingers. A 31-year-old woman was later arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The Belleville resident was released on a promise to appear with a November 18 court date to answer to the charge. Her name is being withheld to protect the identity of the man.

Arson

City police are investigating a fire which took place late Monday.

Just after 11 p.m. police responded to a fire at Value Village on Bell Boulevard. Upon arrival police observed a trailer parked at the rear of the business “fully engulfed in flames.”

The fire department attended and the fire was contained and eventually extinguished. Value Village sustained a considerable amount of property damage due to smoke and water exposure.

Break and enter charges

QUINTE WEST – Last Thursday, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP attended an address on Trenton Street.

Stolen property from five separate break and enters was recovered at the address. Police returned to the address at 5 a.m. and arrested two people in connection with the break and enters and possession of the stolen property.

As a result, Kimberlee Smith, 29, from Trenton, has been charged with five counts of break and enter dwelling house to commit indictable offence, three counts possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failing to comply with conditions of undertaking given by officer in charge.

Also charged is Zachary Vautour, 23, from Trenton. He has been charged with five counts of break and enter dwelling house to commit indictable offence and three counts possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The pair were held for bail.
