Authorities were told to look in on a middle-aged man and woman at 53 Woodhouse Street last Tuesday. After gaining entry to the home, police found the pair with vital signs absent.

Post-mortem examinations were performed in Toronto last week.

“The preliminary results suggest that no foul play is suspected,” Const. Ed Sanchuk, spokesperson for the Norfolk OPP, said in a news release Monday morning.

“Investigators will be reviewing toxicology results when they become available.”

A nearby resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said last week the house was a rental that has seen a number of different tenants in recent years. He also noted that police were occasional visitors to the property, most recently in November.

Police have not released the names of the people found inside the home.
