UPDATE: One Port Dover resident returning to Ontario from Japan

Three Port Dover residents that were aboard the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise in Japan have parted ways.

Greg and Rose Yerex, who both tested positive for the coronavirus, were moved off the ship to a Japanese hospital.

Amie Ferris, a friend of the Yerexes, posted to Facebook that they are both still feeling fine.

The hospital was a seven-hour drive from the cruise ship and they were escorted by police and military. The Okazaki Medical Center, Fujita Health University Hospital is brand new and is not open to the public.

Their travel partner, Kate Bedding, is expected to begin her long journey back to Ontario on Thursday night where she will again spend time quarantined before being allowed to return home.

Pre-flight screenings are expected to begin at 7 p.m.   Japan time, and by 9 p.m. bags need  to be packed and ready to go.

The plane is expected to depart from Haneda Airport around 3 a.m. and will land in Trenton, Ontario at 1:30 a.m. local time.
