Van Every arrested: Brantford Police

Brantford Police have issued an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Roger Earl VanEvery of Brantford on numerous charges including murder and attempted murder with a firearm in connection with a shooting at a motel in Brantford on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Submitted

Roger Earl Van Every, 35, of Brantford and wanted for murder and two counts of attempted murder, has been arrested, Brantford police say.

Police issued a statement Thursday morning saying Van Every was arrested at about 2 a.m. .in Northern Ontario. Brantford police thanked the Anishinabek Police Service, North Bay Police and the OPP for their help in the investigation.

Van Every was wanted in connection with a homicide that took place earlier this month at the Galaxy Motel on Colborne Street East in Brantford.

Following the homicide, police announced they were looking for Van Every and Shajjad Hossain Idrish, 22, of Hamilton. Idrish was arrested in London.
