That stinks.

Police in Missouri were able to sniff out a suspect they were searching for without the need of a K-9 unit.

The Liberty Police Department was searching for the unnamed suspect attempting to hide from them when he revealed his location after passing gas loud enough for authorities to hear, New York Daily News reports.

Police were searching for the man who had a warrant out for his arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

News of the bizarre situation made its way to Missouri’s Clay County Sheriffs Department, who took to Twitter to make light of the situation.

“If you’ve got a felony warrant out for your arrest, the cops are looking for you and you pass gas so loud it gives up your hiding spot, you’re definitely having a s*** day,” Clay County Sheriffs Department tweeted.

Liberty police responded to the tweet saying, “Thanks to @SheriffClayCo for airing out a wanted person’s dirty laundry and fanning the flames.”

“The Liberty Police department was surprised to see this incident slip out, which stinks for the arrestee” they added. “Fortunately, no one was injured during his arrest.”
