Hearn is playing in the PGA Tour’s season-opening A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, while Hendershott is teeing it up at the PGA Tour Champions Ally Challenge in Michigan.

After opening with a solid, three-under-par 67 on Thursday in the first round, Hearn was at two-under-par through 14 holes on Friday.

With about half of the field in for the day, Hearn’s five-under-par total put him in a tie for 34th. The projected cut had players at four-under-par or better moving on to play this weekend.

Scottie Scheffler was the clubhouse leader, sitting at 13-under-par.

Kevin Chappell parred his first hole and then tied a PGA Tour record with nine consecutive birdies. He was at 10-under-par for the tournament with two holes to play in his round on Friday and with two pars on those holes, he would post a 59 for his second round.

Meantime, with the entire field had in the clubhouse after their first rounds on Friday, Hendershott sat in a tie for 64th following a three-over-par 75.

Scott McCarron, Retief Goosen and Tom Gillis were tied for the first-round lead at six-under-par.

Hendershott was scheduled to tee of at 8:03 a.m. for his second round along with playing partners Sandy Lyle and David Eger.

Although Hendershott’s round didn’t go as well as he had hoped, he was still ahead of Major champion winners Mark Brooks (five-over-par), Vijay Singh (four-over-par) and Corey Pavin (four-over-par).

This is Hendershott’s second PGA Tour Champions event. He played in The Senior Open Championship earlier this summer.
